Tour start:
- Pick up from your hotel in Miraflores, San Isidro or Barranco at 8:30 a.m. or 1:30 p.m., depending on the selected option.
Larco Museum:
- The tour begins in the traditional district of Pueblo Libre, where the Larco Museum is located. This museum, housed in an 18th century viceregal mansion built on top of a 7th century pre-Columbian pyramid, houses an extensive collection of pre-Hispanic art, including pieces of gold, silver and erotic ceramics.
- Next, we will visit the Casa Aliaga, a colonial mansion granted by Francisco Pizarro to Jerónimo de Aliaga in 1535. Surprisingly, this house has been inhabited by the same family ever since, offering a unique insight into colonial life and architectural evolution over the centuries.
Historic Center of Lima:
- The tour continues to the Historic Center of Lima, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, we will explore the Plaza Mayor, surrounded by important buildings such as the Government Palace, the Municipal Palace and the Cathedral of Lima, built in the 16th century. The square is a living testimony to the architectural grandeur of the Spanish empire and has witnessed numerous historical events.
Return:
- After exploring the heart of Lima, we will return to your hotel, concluding the tour at approximately 12:30 p.m. or 5:30 p.m., depending on the starting time.
- This tour offers a comprehensive overview of Lima, combining its pre-Columbian past, colonial heritage and vibrant present, ideal for those who want to see the essentials of the city in a short time.
